- Decomposition – A complex system is subdivided in to simple parts which are termed as sub-systems. Sub-systems are defined through boundaries and connected with other subsystem/s or supra-system/s through interface/s.
In the above diagram :-
- Interfaces – Connectors between systems- Supra-systems – As follows :-o Like system A is Supra-system of System X and SystemYo System X is Supra-system of System Xa and Syatem Xbo System Xb is Supra-system of System Xb1, Xb2, Xb3 etc.- Sub-systems – As follows :-o Like System X and SystemY are Sub-systems of system Ao System Xa and Syatem Xb are sub-system of System Xo System Xb1, Xb2, Xb3 are sub-systems of System Xb etc.- Decomposition – Bifurcation of System A in System X and Y and their
another bifurcation in to Xa, Xb, Ya, Yb and so on is Decomposition.
- Simplification – Large no of sub-systems which needs interaction with every sub-system, may prove jostling instead of helping. The main purpose of simplification is to reduce the number of interconnections or interfaces. Through simplification sub-systems are grouped, which are termed as clusters and then these groups are connected through interfaces through which these interact.
